2009 All-America Research Team

Overview

J.P. Morgan Has Most Top-Ranked Consumer Analysts

J.P. Morgan has more analysts ranked at No. 1 in Consumer sectors than any other firm in the 2009 All-America Research Team survey, Institutional Investor’s annual ranking of the nation’s leading equity analysts as determined by the world’s top money managers.

In six of the category’s 15 sectors, J.P. Morgan analysts take top honors. John Faucher, who covers Beverages, is in the winner’s circle for the first time. The firm’s other top-ranked Consumer analysts are all repeat winners: Jamie Baker (Airlines) is No. 1 for two years running; Joseph Greff (Gaming & Lodging), four years; Himanshu Patel (Autos & Auto Parts), three years; Michael Rehaut (Homebuilders & Building Products), two years; and Brian Tunick, (Retailing/Specialty Stores), four years.

Barclays Capital has the second-highest number of top-ranked Consumer analysts, with three: Meredith Adler (Retailing/Food & Drug Chains), eight straight years at No. 1; Robert Drbul (Apparel, Footwear & Textiles), two consecutive years (and six of the past eight years); and Andrew Lazar (Food), seven years.

Institutional Investor’s 38th annual All-America Research Team® covers ten categories and 65 investment sectors. Results are based on responses from more than 3,000 individuals at more than 890 firms, including 87 of the 100 biggest U.S. equity managers. Our respondents manage an estimated $10.2 trillion in U.S. equities.
